Downtown Newbern Christmas Parade
Our annual Christmas Parade is organized by the Newbern Rotary Club and City of Newbern and always takes place in downtown Newbern, TN, on the Thursday following Thanksgiving.
It is a traditional parade with around 70-80 entries and is capped off with a special visit from Santa.
As spectators consisting of both residents and visitors are lined up to cheer on every float and participant that comes through, the event is emceed by members of the Rotary Club. Participants line up on West Main Street, travel through downtown Newbern, and finish up at Newbern Elementary School. Awards are given for each category.
Following the parade, all participants are treated to hot dogs (averaging over 800 each year) and hot chocolate by the Newbern Rotary Club at Newbern Elementary School. Food and Hot Chocolate vendors are sometimes set up downtown as well.
