City Hall serves as the chief adminstrative building for the city of Newbern offering both in-person and drive-though services, including a payment center for all utilities, an auto registration renewal kiosk, and information on city services.

While some cities have a courthouse square, downtown Newbern is uniquely situated on a triangle.

Recognized in the National Register of Historic Places, The Historic Depot in downtown Newbern serves as both a railroad museum and an Amtrak station, one of only two in the state of Tennessee.
