The Newbern Depot Museum is getting ready for several Christmas showings, including a new event - A Depot Christmas Marketplace, on Dec. 3rd, Thursday, from 5-9 pm. On this night, the same night as the Newbern Christmas Parade, the depot's large freight room will house around 15 vendors inside, selling a variety of holiday items. Santa will also be present on this day, from 5-7 pm, and on Dec. 6th, from 1-3 pm.
Items for the Depot Marketplace, as of this writing, include: Christmas and boutique hairbows, character hairbow clippies, Infinity scarves, Origami Owl, Thirty-One bags and gifts, personalized license plates, cell phone cases, handmade throws and quilts, Avon items, crocheted items, It Works, Scentsy, Paparazzi, Gypsy Bird metal-stamped jewelry, and the Depot Museum itself will have kid-sized railroad hats, whistles, Christmas tree decorations, and other items available.
The Depot Museum over this past year has managed to collect several Illinois Central Railroad items for its collection, including Lionel (O-scale), and HO-scale trains, which will be operating during the month.
