The Newbern Depot had a single-day, non-downtown-event opening of 137 people, on Sunday, March 15. The museum is typically open the first Saturday of the month, but weather prevented that from happening in March. Therefore, a secondary date of Sunday, March 15th was used. Normally the depot museum will see from 10 to 20 people on any given Saturday, when there is no other event going on in downtown Newbern.

Maybe it was because of the end of the cold weather, along with sunny skies, and a lot of people getting out of church, that caused the response to be so overwhelming. The depot museum will be doing another Sunday test to see if attendance is higher. This date might be April 12th. Look at the depot's Facebook page, "Newbern Depot Museum/Events" page, for specifics on this time early next month.
