The Newbern Depot Museum will reopen Sunday, March 13th, from noon to 3 pm. We plan to have a refitted HO-scale model train board ready, along with new displays, in the south room. Over the past month, the city of Newbern, along with several local sponsors, has been providing money to make this happen. The old train layout, while very nicely built, had old track, roadbed and connectors that were proving to be too costly to try and repair. This new layout will be functional, and easier to maintain in the long run, but won't look like the old one.

In future events planned, the depot will be a part of a regional bike ride, in early April, and be a part of the 10th anniversary memorial of the 2006 tornado, which killed 16 people in Dyer County. These events will be highlighted in detail during the next newsletter.
